Profitable Tips to Find a Property at a Substantial Discount

Admin      January 09, 2018

If you are looking to buy a property in the UK at the moment there are hundreds of estate agents and websites looking for your cash, but there are also some ways to get around the traps and bag yourself quite a substantial discount. Purchasing a property can leave you with expensive fees and commission to pay out, so by going without a real estate agent you can potentially save yourself a few thousand pounds.

The idea of the DIY house selling/buying business has come a long way in the past few years, particularly expanding through London. A quick internet search will help you find number of businesses offering their services for a fraction of the cost of a real estate agency. This works because you are essentially cutting out the middle-man and going directly to the owner of the property. An agency will usually charge somewhere between 1-3.5%, this figure is particularly high when calculated in terms of the total sale of the house and will equate to a great deal of money. By buying without an estate agency you can save yourself this money instead.

In London and across the UK there are many houses for sale online, so you can easily find exactly the type of property you are looking for, compare prices locally and reach out to the owner to arrange a viewing. There is a wealth of information available over the internet, and so by researching yourself you will often find that you are much more knowledgeable about the property and won?t have to deal with estate agents trying to haggle you into a decision you don't want to make. You can also go to local estate agents and pick their brains about any local listings, as they do have good knowledge about the local area, however, you can then probably find the exact same properties online.

If you decide to buy without an agency you will have to be little more hands on; do your own research, find a property, arrange viewings and generally look after the sale. There is a lot of work to do, but if done correctly you won?t need any agent, and the impact on your sales figure after the job is done should be reward enough.
